Cross Country Skiing
Cross country skiing at Swedetown typically begins in early December and can run through late April or even early May. The 26km of trails are groomed daily for both skate and classic styles. The Swedetown Trails Club uses two snowmobiles and various drags, as well as a Prinoth Husky groomer once the trails have an adequate base.
There are 4.5km of trails lit until 9 p.m. seven days a week.
Swedetown has several snowshoeing options. You’ll find maps here.
At the main trailhead on Osceola Road you’ll find the marked Bearpaw Snowshoe Trail with a 2.3km loop and a 3.0km add-on option.
From the M203 Trailhead, explore the 4.8km Creek Snowshoe Trail. Dog companions are allowed.
From the Woodland Trailhead there are 2 miles of dog-friendly packed trails. These are wide enough to hike side by side with a friend.
There are five snowbike loops that start from the main trailhead, just to the right of the large map. Trails are groomed as needed. You can find maps here.
No dogs are allowed on these trails, but a 2-mile multi-use trail is available at the Woodland Road trailhead.
