The Swedetown Trails Club has an opening for a volunteer bookkeeper. This involves a few hours each month to enter and categorize expenditures and generate reports for the monthly board meeting. This would be a great way to support the trails and the club.
This position will involve:
- entering and categorizing expenses using the club’s Quickbooks software (on average, this involves 15-20 entries per month)
- using Quickbooks to generate standard financial reports for board meetings (which occur on the second Tuesday of each month)
- working with the club treasurer, who writes the checks and provides information about categorizing the expenditure
- working with the finance committee to define the reports and other information needed for the club’s finances
Experience with Quickbooks or other financial software is preferred, but not required. We have a Quickbooks instance up and running. A bookkeeping background would be useful, but is not required. depending on interest and experience, the bookkeeper may also produce the annual IRS Form 990 or work with an accounting firm to provide the information needed for the form.
