Trail Smarts

*

Use the trails with a companion or let someone know your plans.

*

For emergency on a trail or if you notice vandalism in progress – call 9.1.1 and give your location

*

Ski one way trails in the right direction, especially on hilly trails.

*

Trail surface needs to set up after the groomer passes so don’t ski right behind the groomer. Choose another route.

*

In soft or thawing conditions, if your skate skiing will leave ruts please end your day and come back another time when conditions are better.

*

Yield – snowshoers and snow bikes yield to cross country skiers at trail crossings.

*

Winter fat bike trails are available. Fat bikes are not allowed on groomed ski trails. Exception is Tuesday evening after 6 p.m. when fat bikes are invited to explore any bike or ski trail provided no ruts are made.

*

Snowshoeing is not allowed on any of the groomed ski trails. There are two marked snowshoe trails plus snowshoeing is fine on the packed fat bike winter trails and on the multi-use trails on Woodland Road where dogs are allowed. It is also fine to explore ungroomed terrain on snowshoes.

*

Walking on trails – The trails at Woodland Road allow walking. Depending on conditions sometimes you need snowshoes to walk and sometimes winter boots will work. None of the trails that start at the main trailhead allow winter walking.
