Club Season and Daily Memberships

 

Groomed ski and snow bike trails – winter use of Swedetown’s groomed ski trails and snow bike trails requires season or daily membership in the Swedetown Trails Club.

Buy One Year Membership: For JUST Swedetown … or … For Swedetown PLUS other trails.

Membership fees are used for cost of fuel and operators for daily grooming, lighting, signs and maps and trail improvements. Swedetown one-year membership for one skier is $80. Family rate (two adults from same household) is $120. At Swedetown Trails, youth 18 and under ski at no charge, paid membership not required. Swedetown has been able to provide daily ski trail grooming and yet keep the same rates for more than five years. Thank you all members!Swedetown Trails

Day visit – One day all groomed trails membership is $10. Special evening rate of $6 is offered starting at 4 p.m. For snow bike only, snowshoe only or multi-use and back country trails, the one day rate is $5. Please pay by cash or check in one of the red pay pipes at the Chalet trailhead.

Other area top-notch ski trail systems cooperate with Swedetown to offer discounts on combined season memberships – MTU Nordic Center, Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids in Hancock and Chassell Classic Trails. There are more than 100K of ski trails combined. Information about the other areas is found on the Keweenaw Trails web site. Membership forms and season tags are available at Michigan Tech ticket office at the SDC, Cross Country Sports (Calumet), Downwind Sports (Houghton), Hancock Bike Shop or on the web at www.KeweenawTrails.com.

The Swedetown Recreation Area is owned by Calumet Township. Everyone is welcome – no fees or residence requirements to enjoy the recreation area in summer and fall for jogging, nature hikes, mountain biking and berry picking. Donations in support of maintaining the mountain bike trails are always welcome – there is a donation pipe near the parking area. Donations will be put to use by the Swedetown Trails Club for materials, equipment, trail maps and trail signs.
